Q: Can I walk the course or skip an obstacle?

Yes to both!

You can tackle the course however you like – the event isn’t timed so you can choose to run, walk or dance or a combination of the above!

If you would rather not take on an obstacle you will be able to go around, just follow the marshall’s instructions.

In the interests of safety of all our participants, please be aware that all obstacles have a minimum height requirement of 1.2m and a maximum weight requirement of 114kg (18 stone).  We advise you to read the Terms & Conditions for your chosen event before signing up.

Is there a minimum height requirement?

Yes, participants must be over 1.24m / 4ft tall.

Under 16s must be accompanied on the course at all times by a participating, paying adult.

KAPOW! is a physically demanding event.  In the interests of the safety of all our superheroes there are height and weight restrictions on the obstacles, so please check the Terms and Conditions for your chosen event before signing up.

Will I get wet?

At most events the final obstacle is a fun foam station.

Depending on how long you stay in the foam your superhero outfit could get wet!

Of course we can’t control what might fall from the sky…

Please note some venues may not use the foam station, please check with your event organiser.

Can I buy a ticket on the day?

This depends on the event organiser.

To avoid disappointment we do suggest that you book your tickets in advance, as tickets sold on the day can be quite a bit more expensive.

Will I get covered in paint?

There’s no coloured powder or paint used at KAPOW! events

Is there a minimum age?

The giant obstacles can be challenging for younger superheroes, so whilst there’s no specific age limit everyone using the course must be over 1.24m tall.

And all under 16s must be accompanied on the course by a paying adult.

Please check the event Terms & Conditions for more information.

Q: Is the race timed?

No, KAPOW! events are not timed.

You don’t have to be a runner, and you’re not racing against the clock.

Once you’re on the course you can take your time tackling the obstacles.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are not allowed on the course.

This is for the safety of all our participants.

Please check the event information about information on whether dogs are allowed at the venue or in the event village.

Can I get a refund?

Please check the booking information for your event.

Can spectators attend?

Yes! The event will be open to spectators but it won’t always be possible for spectators to follow you around the course.

Please check the booking information for your event.

Can I wear fancy dress?

Absolutely!  This is your chance to show off your full superhero splendour!

Seriously though, please make sure that any capes or other attachments to your costume are not going to cause you or others to trip.

Capes etc. should also be easily detachable – e.g. use Velcro fastenings.

Do I have to fundraise for charity?

All KAPOW! events are organised in partnership with a charity, or charities who will be very grateful for your support.

Please include some fundraising in your preparation for the event.

Your booking information will contain details of the charities involved and the fundraising team will be happy to help you set up fundraising pages and give you help with raising funds.

How fit do I have to be to run KAPOW! ?

KAPOW! is a physical challenge.

Although it’s not a race and you can complete the course at your own pace we do need to make you aware that the obstacles require an element of fitness as you will be climbing, crawling and pushing your way through the inflatables.

You do not have to complete all of the obstacles to qualify for Superhero status:  You can choose to miss out any obstacles if you would prefer not to attempt them.  If you decide not to attempt an obstacle please inform the marshal and they will direct you around.

You should not take part if you have certain medical conditions – please check the event Terms & Conditions for more details.  If you have any concerns about your suitability for the event we recommend you consult your GP before signing up.

For yours, and everyone’s, safety please pay attention to the safety briefing at the start of the event, and observe instructions you are given on the course.

Is there a weight restriction for KAPOW! ?

To ensure the safety of everyone taking part in the event there is a weight restriction on the obstacles of 114kg (18 stone).

Please check the Terms & Conditions for your chosen event before signing up.

Can I take part if I’m pregnant?

KAPOW! is not suitable for someone who is, or suspects they might be, pregnant.
